The outer edge of the hood is rounded to be comfortable on flared handlebars while the inner edge gives your thumb a natural spot to grab onto. The hoods have raised traction patterns to ensure solid grip with or without gloves. The brake pivot is higher than most road levers which gives you more stopping leverage with mechanical disc brakes.
